Police have arrested another man in the murder of a Westwood man whose body was found dumped in rural Greenup County in March.
Kentucky State Police arrested James E. McWain, 54, of Ashland on Monday and charged him with third-degree arson and tampering with evidence, according to a KSP statement.
Police had gotten a warrant for his arrest after determining he had tried to dispose of evidence related to the murder of Christopher Frazier, the statement said.
McWain was implicated in Frazier’s shooting, which happened March 25 at a Rockgate Road residence, police say. Frazier’s body, riddled with bullets, was found over an embankment on Happy Ridge Road.
The triggerman in the killing, Carlton T. “Todd” Gallman, has already confessed, investigators said last week in a court hearing.
Gallman is charged with the murder and another suspect, Aaron W. Gallion, is charged with complicity to commit murder; both are facing life prison sentences if they are convicted.
The murder is believed to have been committed in a poolhouse on the Rockgate Road property. The poolhouse was destroyed by fire two days after the killing. Firefighters told police the fire appeared to have been set intentionally.
