Deadline moved for Carter project

GRAYSON The application deadline has been extended to May 15 to be a partner in a new build later this year by Habitat for Humanity of Carter County.

Applications are available from and returnable to the office of Robert L. Caummisar, 301 W. Main St., Grayson, KY 41143.

Habitat partners must have a source of regular income. There are limits on the low side and the high side.

House payments are as low as $300 a month because there is no interest charged to the buyer on a mortgage.

Goodwill to have celebrations

GREENUP Goodwill Industries of Southern Ohio will celebrate National Goodwill Week with an open house Wednesday at the office in Greenup.

The Portsmouth community and surrounding areas will join in the celebration at 2 p.m. Thursday. Greenup Mayor Lundie Meadows will present a city proclamation to the organization.
