Fosson to play Heart of Parks show

GRAYSON — When it comes to the biggest show of the year, Dan Click of the Grayson Gallery & Art Center believes in pulling out the good stuff.

For entertainment to bring this year’s Heart of the Parks juried art show to a memorable conclusion, Click called Ashland native Mark Fosson and musical partner Daniel Bachman.

“We always have somebody good, and these guys are great,” Click said, explaining Fosson normally performs with his band the Bum Steers, but will team with Bachman to play their own brand of acoustic alchemy.

“They do this Leo Kottke 12-string-style sort of thing,” Click said, adding Fosson had an outstanding show at the center about a year ago. “They will be playing as a duo. They’re singer/songwriters, so most of what they will perform is their own music. I guess you would describe it as traditional guitar music. It fits well with the art gallery.”

Click said he is a longtime fan of Fosson’s music.

“He left Ashland in 1978 when he got his record deal. He’s my cousin, but even if he wasn’t my cousin I would be a fan,” Click said.

Fosson and Bachman will perform after the art show’s awards have been presented, Click said, providing an elevated level of entertainment for guests until about 9 p.m. Click said the juried show is funded by local supporters and the City of Grayson, and there is no admission fee.
