Accident injures Ironton woman

Closes westbound I-64 lanes in Carter

GRAYSON —  The Kentucky State Police at Ashland is investigating an injury collision that occurred this morning on Interstate 64 about three miles east of the Grayson exit.

Ellie Jenkins age 45, of Ironton, was westbound on I-64 about 5:45 a.m. when she lost control of her 1998 Chevrolet Blazer, causing it to overturn.

Jenkins was flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The accident shut down the westbound lanes of the interstate for a period.

  • Advisory committee on landfill to meet

    Members of the county’s new advisory committee regarding Big Run Landfill enforcement are encouraged to attend the group’s first meeting next week.
    Committee facilitator Mike Clevenger of Cannonsburg said the panel will meet the first Monday of each month, starting next week. For now, all meetings will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Boyd County Community Center.
