Foul play suspected in death

RUSH — Kentucky State Police are suspecting foul play in the death of a 56-year-old Boyd County man on Wednesday morning.

Robert Coburn Jr., of the 2400 block of Slick Rock Road in Boyd County, was found dead in his residence by his daughter at 10 a.m., the KSP said.

She found the body after going to the home to check on her dad after not hearing from him in a few days.

An autopsy has been scheduled and KSP investigators suspect foul play to be involved, according to a press release.

The Boyd County Sheriff’s Office, Boyd County EMS, Boyd County Coroner’s Office, and the East Fork Volunteer Fire Department responded and assisted with the KSP investigation, which is ongoing.

Det. Ben Cramer is leading the investigation for the KSP.

Anyone with any information related to the investigation is asked to contact the KSP at (800) 222-5555.
