Retired teachers to meet Thursday

ASHLAND Boyd County Retired Teachers Association will have its winter meeting at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bellefonte Country Club.

Dr. Bob Waggoner, executive director of KRTA, will be the guest speaker. Also appearing will be Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

ASHLAND King’s Daughters Medical Center has released its 2013 physician directory featuring more than 330 KDMC physicians, advanced practitioners, their specialties, office addresses and phone numbers.

 The directories are free and can be obtained by calling (888) 377-KDMC (5362) or by requesting one online at kdmc.com. A downloadable PDF version is also available on the medical center’s website.

Breast cancer support available

ASHLAND Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital’s breast cancer support group will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Diabetes Education Classroom at Bellefonte Centre (1000 Ashland Drive.)

Dinner, music planned on Friday

OLDTOWN The Oldtown Volunteer Fire Department will have a country/gospel music dinner in appreciation of supporters at 6 p.m. Friday. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish. Music will begin at 7 p.m.

Holiday depression event on Wednesday

PORTSMOUTH Southern Ohio Medical Center will have a free event for health professionals and community members to discuss holiday depression at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the conference room of the Gibson Building on SOMC’s east campus.

Susan Goins will speak about holiday depression at the free Holiday Tea.
