Scuffle at Kroger results in drug arrest

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:


An Ashland man was arrested on a felony drug-possession charge Sunday following an incident in the Kroger parking lot.

According to the APD, Timothy D. Keeton, 55, of the 1600 block of Beech Street, got into a fight with his girlfriend and an unidentified man about 10:40 p.m. Keeton was “manifestly under the influence of alcohol,” and a search incident to his arrest turned up seven oxycodone pills in one of his pants pockets, police said.

Keeton was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center on a charge of first-degree drug possession.


A 46 year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge early Sunday morning for allegedly injuring his wife by throwing a box fan at her. The incident occurred at 12:25 a.m. in the 2600 block of Seminole Avenue.

Sexual abuse

A woman reported Sunday morning an unknown person may have had sexual contact with her while she was unconscious and had also stolen her purse. The alleged incident occurred in the 200 block of 18th Street.

Criminal mischief

Someone did approximately $900 damage to the stalls and doors in the men’s restroom at Veterans Riverfront Park, it was reported Saturday.


A man on Sunday reported someone removed the battery from his vehicle while it was parked in the 100 block of 19th Street.

A woman living in the 1500 block of 39th Street on Friday reported the theft of jewelry and clothing valued at $490.


Valeria Wade, 44, and Shannon Hamilton, 24, both of West Portsmouth, were arrested Sunday on felony theft charges for allegedly attempting to steal merchandise valued at $671.55 from Walmart. Both were lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, where they remained on Monday.

A 41-year-old Flatwoods man was arrested Saturday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $22.88.

A 26-year-old Raceland woman was arrested Friday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $14.51.
