Belmont Street man reports burglary

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:


A man on Thursday reported someone broke into his home in the 1000 block of Belmont Street and stole  PlayStation 3 gaming console and an Apple iPad 2, valued at a combined $1,368.


A man on Friday reported someone stole a nail gun valued at $400 out of his truck while it was parked at Kroger and attempted to sell it at a pawn shop.

A woman on Friday reported her son’s iPhone was stolen at Paul G. Blazer High School during a basketball game. She also told police she called the phone after discovering it was missing and it was answered by an employee of a local pawn shop.

A man reported Friday another man to whom he’d given a ride stole $150 from his vehicle.

Fugitive arrests

Police on New Year’s Day arrested a man at the Salvation Army emergency shelter after a background check revealed he had outstanding warrants from Texas, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio and Virginia.

Craig Martin, whose age and address were not listed, was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center. He was not listed on the jail’s online inmate roster on Monday.

Chandra R. Mobley, 28, of the 900 block of Prospect Avenue, was arrested Saturday at her residence on a warrant charging her with being a fugitive from Lawrence County, Ohio. She was lodged in the BCDC, where she remained on Monday.


J.C. Penney on Friday reported a woman had stolen merchandise valued at $42.42 by means of deception.

A 33-year-old Parkersburg, W.Va., man was arrested Saturday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $97.72.

A 32-year-old Ironton woman was arrested Friday for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $137.97 from Walmart.
