Thefts, burglaries reported

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Theft

‰Walmart reported the theft of merchandise worth $234. Police have two suspects.

‰Walmart reported the theft of merchandise worth $68. Police have a suspect.

‰Belk reported theft of merchandise worth $118. Police have a suspect.

‰JC Penney reported the theft of merchandise worth $15. Police have a suspect.

‰Walmart reported the theft of merchandise worth $151. Police didn’t name a suspect.

‰Walmart reported the theft of merchandise worth $100. Police didn’t name a suspect.

‰Clark’s BP reported the theft of merchandise worth $97. Police have a suspect.

Forgery

‰A suspected forger withdrew $1,000 from the bank account of a resident of the 3300 block of Pinehaven Drive by making a fraudulent check for $3,042.85 payable to the victim, depositing the $2,042.85 into the victim’s bank account and taking the rest in cash. Police have a suspect, who is believed to have forged checks to herself from the victim’s account on three other occasions.

Criminal mischief

‰A resident of Lansdowne Drive reported someone scratched her car on the trunk and rear quarter panel, causing $499 in damage. Police have a suspect.

‰Reggie’s Attic in the 3000 block of Greenup Avenue reported damage to a window and merchandise. Damage value was placed at $1,650.

Burglary

‰Someone broke into a vacant home in the 300 block of 31st Street and stole copper, a hot water tank and a heating unit. Also stolen were sections of gutter.
