Man reports theft of handgun

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:


A man on Sunday reported a Springfield XDM .40-caliber handgun was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the 3400 block of Stratton Drive.

Shoplifting, drugs

A Portsmouth woman was arrested on felony drug-possession charges after she was caught allegedly trying to steal merchandise from a business in the Ashland Town Center on Sunday.

Crystal D. Harrison, 28, was charged with first-degree drug possession for allegedly having morphine while attempting to shoplift various jewelry items valued at $41.99 from Dazzle Me, the APD said.

Harrison also was charged with misdemeanor theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. She was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, where she remained on Monday.


An Ironton woman was charged with felony theft for allegedly attempting to steal merchandise valued at $934 from Belk on Saturday.

Shantell J. Tennison, 32, was also served with an outstanding warrant charging her with theft. She was lodged in the BCDC, where she remained on Monday, according to the jail’s online inmate roster.

Walmart on Sunday reported a female shoplifter had stolen merchandise valued at $206.67.
