OLIVE HILL — 4 arrested in Carter FADE raid

OLIVE HILL - Four Olive Hill residents were arrested Tuesday night in an undercover sting operation on Perry Tabernacle Road.

John McGuire, 58, Clyde Logan, 44, and Bonnie Butler, 34, were charged with first-degree drug trafficking, according to the FADE Drug Task Force. Timothy Lawhorn, 31, was charged with first-degree fleeing and evading police and tampering with physical evidence.

Canned food drive slated

LOUISA - For the second consecutive year, the mother-daughter team of Linda and Sheri Bell will have a food drive for the homeless in Catlettsburg and Louisa.

Canned goods, other nonperishable food items and monetary donations will be collected between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday at the Market Place Flea Market on U.S. 23.

Sustainability series continues

HUNTINGTON -The seminar “How to Save Money While Reducing your Environmental Footprint,” part of the Sustainability Lecture Series, will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 7 in BE5 in the Memorial Student Center on the campus of Marshall University.

Yalmaz Siddiqui, senior director of environmental strategy for the Office Depot, will speak. Lunch will be served. Green vendors will be there from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Free parking will be available at the football stadium parking lot on 20th Street or for a small fee at the new parking garage at 1650 Sixth Ave.

FOTT seeking miniature trees

ASHLAND - The Festival of Trees and Trains, a major fundraiser for the Paramount Arts Center presented by the Paramount Women’s Association, needs miniature trees —shorter than 31⁄2 feet.

The event will be Nov. 22 through Dec. 1.
