Police find missing juvenile in stolen van

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Receiving stolen

property

Police on Friday recovered a stolen vehicle they said was occupied by a runaway juvenile.

The 2005 Chevrolet Venture van with West Virginia tags, valued at $5,000, was recovered about 5:20 a.m. at an unspecified location on 29th Street.

A youth found inside the van was determined to have been reported missing in West Virginia, the APD said. He told officers he had stolen the vehicle.

A Pedro, Ohio, man on Saturday reported a 14-foot car trailer stolen from his residence in June had been pawned by the suspected thief at Tri-State Pawn & Jewelry.

Theft

A woman living in Bruce Apartments on Saturday reported she had loaned an acoustic guitar, valued at $175, to another woman who had failed to return it to her.

A woman on Saturday reported she was scammed out of $63 cash at Walmart by two men who purported to be selling magazine subscriptions.

A woman on Sunday reported she loaned her Samsung Galaxy tablet, valued at $300, to another woman, who pawned it without her permission and also withdrew $60 from her bank account without authorization.

Forgery

Dairy Queen at 3300 13th St. on Friday reported someone had passed four counterfeit $20 bills there over a six-day time frame.

Assault

A man on Monday morning reported another man cut him on the knuckles with a knife and then fled. The incident occurred about 12:55 a.m. in the 4700 block of Boyd Street.

Shoplifting

A 25-year-old man from Ford City, Pa., was arrested Sunday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $104.86.
