Police beat: 9/17/13

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:


‰Tri-State Pawn and Jewelry at 4250 Winchester Ave. reported the theft of a welder valued at $750.

‰Police received a report of a catalytic converter valued at $500 stolen from an automobile in the 4400 block of Winchester Avenue.

‰Kroger in the Midtown Shopping Center reported merchandise worth $60 stolen.

‰A resident of the 2616 block of Newman Street reported someone removed the registration sticker from his vehicle and placed it on another vehicle.

Child pornography

‰Police received a report of a nude photograph of a 12-year-old girl being sent to another 12-year-old girl.

Fugitive from

another state

‰Police arrested a man identified as Kevin M. Troxel of Fort Wayne, Ind., on a warrant from Indiana.

‰Police arrested a woman identified as Rosetta A. Gunter of the 400 block of 30th Street on a warrant from Lawrence County, Ohio.


‰Police received a report of the theft of a 42-inch flat-screen TV worth $300 from a residence in the 3000 block of Shute Street.


‰Papa John’s Pizza, 2406 13th St., reported two men paying for their order with a counterfeit $20 bill.


‰Police arrested a resident of the 3000 block of Winchester Avenue on assault, marijuana possession and public intoxication charges when they found him drunk in the 1800 block of Winchester Avenue.

Fleeing police

‰Police arrested four men on charges of fleeing and trespassing when they ran away after police commanded them to stop. The four entered the fenced parking lot of the Ashland federal building where they were arrested.



‰Police arrested a woman identified as Linda K. Preston of the 300 block of Blackburn Avenue on a wanton endangerment charge when she allegedly was seen attempting to start a fire in her apartment. Firefighters who went to the house to put out the fire saw her through the window sitting in a chair and trying to set more materials on fire.
