VIDEO: Mud Run competitors get down and dirty

The Independent

COALTON — Saturday's inaugural Mountain Rush Mud Run attracted a crowd of more than 100 runners who climbed, crawled and raced their way through the three-mile obstacle course at the Boyd County Fairgrounds.

The course was designed and created by local chiropractor Dwain Porter, who hopes to eventually draw thousands to participate in the race series.

In addition to more than a dozen obstacles, the "Color of Mud" run featured corn-starch color that was thrown at racers.

It is the first of two events to be held this summer; a second run will take place Aug. 3.
