The Ashland Town Center Mall has launched its 2013 License to Shop program as a fundraiser for local groups.
The License to Shop program features a coupon book that provides one-time discounts at 28 participating mall retailers and restaurants. The book is available to all 501c-3 nonprofit groups to sell as a fundraiser. The coupon books can be sold for $5 each and groups can keep 100 percent of the proceeds.
“License to Shop serves as Ashland Town Center’s year-round effort to help local charities and non-profit organizations raise money throughout the community,” said Jaime Bloss, marketing director for the Ashland Town Center.
“Customers help their favorite organizations and see their $5 investment quickly pays for itself through incredible values. The non-profit groups benefit because unlike a traditional candy bar, wrapping paper and other fundraising efforts today’s consumers are more receptive to making donations for which they see immediate and ongoing returns. And rather than keeping just a portion of the sales, the non-profit organization keeps 100 percent of the proceeds,” said Bloss.
The 2013 License to Shop offers are good through Dec. 31.
The program compliments the seasonal fund-raising programs already offered by the mall, which will also remain in place, according to officials. These include Earning for Learning in the early fall and Magical Night of Giving, the mall’s annual kickoff event to the holiday season.
