MOREHEAD — MSU squads prep for nationals

MOREHEAD - The Morehead State all-girl and coed cheer squads are looking to add to the program’s 32 total national championships at the Universal Cheerleading Association College Cheerleading Team Championship this month.

“I’m very excited about the dedication of our cheer teams,” head coach Bill Mayo said. “Both our coed and all-girl teams have been practicing twice a day in preparation for our return to nationals.”

The 2013 championships will take place Jan. 18 through 20 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

BCHS council to get new member

SUMMIT - The Boyd County High School council is seeking a parent member to replace one who resigned. The member would serve on the council for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.

Parents, stepparents, foster parents or legal guardians of a student enrolled at the high school are eligible. Nomination forms may be picked up at the school between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday or Tuesday. The election will be in the front office from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 18.

Boyd board meetings change

SUMMIT - The Boyd County Board of Education has changed its regular meeting date and location to 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month in the new Boyd County High School auditorium.
