ASHLAND — Bluegrass musician Don Rigsby is putting out a call to music lovers to fill the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg for the first taping of his new television show “Bluegrass Revival with Don Rigsby.”

Rigsby, a resident of the rural Lawrence County community of Isonville, said the first concert for the show will be Nov. 2, featuring himself, Larry Cordle and The Whites, as well as singer Beth Castle of Paintsville and 11-year-old musical prodigy Isaac Moore on guitar and vocals.

“We need good fans to fill the seats and make it a great show,” Rigsby said Thursday, explaining the concert will be divided up to make 10 shows, which will feature a combination of live performances and interviews. The show will be hosted by Rigsby and fellow Lawrence County musician Rick May, with a new concert event every four months.

Rigsby said the Nov. 2 show will include full performances by The Whites, Larry Cordle and the rest of the evening’s entertainers, although the audience should probably expect some portions of the concert to be repeated for the sake of the seven-camera film crew.

Rigsby said the show will be syndicated, providing an ongoing opportunity to reach music fans as well as giving himself and others a chance to sing and play the gospel songs the musicians cherish and want to share.

“It is a chance to do God’s work and spread His message of salvation and love,” Rigsby said, adding the new television program will always be a family-oriented show.

The first show will air at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 16 on WSAZ, and again at 7 p.m. the following Saturday on MyZ TV. Tickets for the Nov. 2 show are $21. For more information and tickets, visit macarts.com or call (888) 622-2787 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
