Kyova Mall Oktoberfest set

CANNONSBURG — The Kyova Mall will be filled with carnival entertainment and inflatables when it hosts the first Oktoberfest later this month.

Events will begin with a pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at Callihan’s Restaurant, followed by a songwriters’ workshop and luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ($20 fee.) To register for the workshop, call (606) 585-0586.

Other activities will be a dog show at noon Oct. 27, followed by music by the Lawrence County Bluegrass Coalition from 1 to 3 p.m., a style show with models from Wilma’s and Aaliyah’s and music by City Heat featuring Sweetness from 4 to 5 p.m. and music by Don Pedigo, Bobby Cyrus, George Molton, Stephen Salyers and David Lee Murphy.

Entertainment on Oct. 28 will include gospel music by Ellen Keaton from 2 to 4 p.m.

The festival will also feature food vendors, crafts, free inflatables, children’s pictures with costumed characters, a fire prevention show and more. The stores housed in the mall will also have special sales.

Oktoberfest will be from noon to 10 p.m. Oct. 27 and from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 28.
