Catlettsburg man facing multiple charges

ASHLAND — A Catlettsburg man was arrested Wednesday night and is facing multiple criminal charges, including drug trafficking, according to the Boyd County Sheriff’’s Office.

Michael D. Johnson, 21, came to Ashland to meet with a confidential informant about 9 p.m. but notice sheriff deputies in the area. He threw a container of oxycodone pills from his vehicle and tried to drive away before being stopped and arrested.

Deputies also found a large amount of money in Johnson’s vehicle. He was charged with drug possession, trafficking and tampering with evidence.

Johnson is being lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.
