Church reports theft, vandalism

ASHLAND The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Theft, vandalism

‰Another Ashland church has been victimized by criminals.

St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1320 Bath Ave., reported Wednesday the theft of a structure valued at $500. The item was later recovered, but had been burned, according to records.

Church officials also reported vandalism that would cost an estimated $500 to repair.

No other details were immediately available.

Last week, Wildwood Baptist Church, 3414 Charles St., reported a burglary in which nearly $5,000 worth of items were stolen, and police have investigated several other crimes involving churches in recent months.

Theft

‰A man living in the 1600 block of Ferguson Street Thursday reported the theft of an electronic item valued at $355 from his vehicle.

‰A woman living in the 900 block of Kilgore Drive Thursday reported the theft of an unspecified item from her vehicle.

‰A man living in the 600 block of 25th Street Wednesday reported the theft of his wallet, which had $500 in it.

‰A woman living in the 500 block of 39th Street Wednesday reported the theft of checks valued at $20.

‰An Ashland man Wednesday reported computer equipment valued at $399 was stolen from him in the 4500 block of 13th Street.

‰A woman living in the 2100 block of Lexington Avenue reported Tuesday an item valued at $299 had been stolen from her mailbox.

Shoplifting

‰A South Shore man was arrested Tuesday at Wal-Mart after he allegedly tried to steal merchandise valued at $177.69.

‰An Ashland man was arrested Tuesday at Wal-Mart after he allegedly tried to steal merchandise valued at $27.14.
