Grief group sets program
Local briefs
King’s Daughters Pastoral Care Department is offering “Making it Through the Holidays,” a grief support group, beginning Nov. 15, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the KDMC Health Education Center.
The group will meet Sundays at the same time and place through Dec. 6. To register or for further information, please contact KDMC Pastoral Services at (606) 408-4560 or (606) 408-6118.
“Thanksgiving and Christmas can be times of great anticipation, activity and joy. However, when someone has experienced the loss of a loved one, the holiday season can be a terribly difficult and lonely time,” said the Rev. Philip Duncan, a chaplain with the KDMC Pastoral Care Department and facilitator of the grief support group.
Duncan said the group helps participants better cope with their loss in an atmosphere of comfort and reassurance.
The dates of the support group (meetings are at the KDMC Health Education Center) are:
- Nov. 15, from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Nov. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Nov. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m.
-Dec. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m.
