Various thefts reported to APD

ASHLAND —
The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:
Theft
‰ A woman living in Gla-Lo Apartments on Friday reported the theft of an unspecified item valued at $947.
‰ A woman living in the 1700 block of Delaware Street on Thursday reported the theft of tools valued at $1,350.
‰ Penn Station, 116 Sixth St., reported the theft of $1,800 cash Thursday.
‰ The Boyd County Public Library’s Main Branch, 1740 Central Ave., on Wednesday reported the theft of recordings valued at $300.
‰ A woman living in the 3400 block of Ridgeway Drive on Wednesday reported the theft of cash, credit cards and other items, all valued at $1,635.
‰ A man living in the 1300 block of Kentucky Avenue on Tuesday reported the theft of firearms valued at $1,130.
Burglary
‰ A woman living in the 3100 block of Winchester Avenue reported Thursday that someone had broken into her home and stolen an electric item valued at $580.
Fugitive arrest
‰ Police on Tuesday arrested John M. Roberts, of the 300 block of 24th Street, on a warrant charging him with being a fugitive from justice.
Mail theft
‰ A woman living in the 3100 block of Powell Street reported Tuesday that someone had stolen a check for $232.64 that had been mailed to her.
Shoplifting
‰ A Westwood man was arrested Thursday for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $13.62 from Foodland, 1225 13th St.
‰ An Ashland man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly attempting to steal items valued at $59.74 from Wal-Mart.
‰ An Ashland woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trying to shoplift merchandise valued at $116 from Belk in the Ashland Town Center. Police also charged the woman with drug possession after finding Valium on her.
‰ Foodland, 1225 13th St., on Tuesday reported the theft of merchandise valued at $117.22.
