Skeletal remains found in Willard

— Authorities are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains at a location in rural Carter County.
Kentucky State Police received a report Thursday evening there were human bones on a site on Leadingham Branch, in the Willard area, according to a news release from the Ashland KSP post.
Detectives from the Ashland post were dispatched to the site and found the remains, the KSP said. Carter County Coroner George Sparks and Dr. Emily Craig, a forensic pathologist with the state Medical Examiner’s Office, were notified and detectives returned to the scene with Sparks and Craig on Friday.
According to Craig, the remains were those of an adult Caucasian male. The KSP did not say if there was any indication how the person died, or whether foul play was involved.
