Magical Mystery Fair set at Boyd library

The Boyd County Public Library’s Summer Reading program will end on Saturday with a Magical Mystery Fair.
Those who participated in the six-week program will be treated to games, fun and prizes at the event, which will start at 4 p.m. at the main branch. The theme for the program was “Get a Clue” for children through age 12 and YNK (You Never Know) for teens.
At the event, children can “Meet the Archaeologist,” Dwight Cropper of South Point, and learn about Braille from Lora Felty of the National Federation of the Blind.
At 6 p.m., the party will move to the bandstand area of Central Park for snow cones and cotton candy. Children who have read 50 or more hours this summer will be honored.
The program will conclude with a performance by magician Mark Comley of Georgetown from 6:15 to 7 p.m.
The fair rewards youth for summer reading. Each participants in Summer Reading can bring a guest. Nearly 200 children have taken part in the program this summer.
