Missing Louisa teen found
LOUISA - A teenager from Lawrence County who had been reported missing has been found.
Candace Pennington, 15, of Louisa, was found Wednesday in Pikeville and returned home to her mother, said Trooper Elliott Gollihue, spokesman for the Ashland post of the Kentucky State Police. He said he did not have additional details.
Pennington was reported missing on Saturday by her mother, Cindy Chaffins, who told authorities the girl was last seen at a neighbor’s home about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Church to have free sports camp
ASHLAND - LifeSong Church will host a free sports camp for rising third- through eighth-graders from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Monday through Wednesday.
Sports to be offered are basketball, soccer, flag football, cheerleading, track and field and team handball.

RHS cheerleaders to have car wash
FLATWOODS - The Russell High School cheerleaders will have a car wash and hot dog sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Doty’s Shell Mart on Bellefonte Road.

Barrel, pole horse event Saturday
GREENUP - KY07 District of the National Barrel Horse Association will host a Barrel and Pole Horse show at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Greenup County Fairgrounds.
Concessions will be provided by the Load Christian Baptist Church youth and the Country Clover 4-H Club. Admission is $4 a person. Ages 10 and younger will be admitted free.
The show is sponsored by Cookes Farm Center and J&H Reinforcing and Structural Erectors.

Crum Chapel to host carnival
ASHLAND - Crum Chapel Independent Baptist Church, 4900 Blackburn Ave., will have a carnival from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church. There will be hot dogs, beverages, games and inflatables.

Wurtland board to meet Tuesday
WURTLAND - The City of Wurtland Board of Commissioners will have a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The purpose of the meeting is to conduct interviews for Wurtland/Greenup Wastewater Interconnection Project Phase 1-A and Lloyd Wastewater Collection System Phase 1-B.

Areas under boil-water notice
ASHLAND - Boil-water advisories have been issued for the Hall Ridge and the Greenhills areas until further notice. The Greenhills notice includes the federal prison and Greenhills BP.
