The Kentucky Agricultural Relief Effort program will deliver cost-share assistance to Greenup County farmers, allowing them to pursue on-farm improvements and investments that will help lessen the impact of future weather-related disasters.
Producer applications can be picked up at the Greenup County Soil & Water Conservation Board office at 9113 U.S. 23 in Wurtland, adjacent to Carmichael John Deere, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. starting Thursday and continuing through July 24, or by calling Jackie Queen at (606) 833-0180 during the signup period.
Late applications will not be accepted.
The Greenup County Agricultural Advancement Council has set the eligible practices to be reimbursed on a 50/50 basis with a maximum payout of $3,500 per applicant per Farm Serial Number.
The program is open to all county producers and shall not be tied to participation in any organization. The scoring system to award the cost-share funds is based on mandatory evaluation criteria established by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board in Frankfort.
