The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:
Robbery
‰Police arrested four who allegedly robbed a family in the Midtown Mall parking lot Monday night.
Stuart Ross, 32, of Ashland; and Gregory Keelin, 35; Valerie Walters, 31; and Lorie Craig, 32; all of Catlettsburg, were lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, each charged with second-degree robbery.
According to the APD, the victims, a husband and wife in their 20s and their children, were sitting in their vehicle in front of Kroger about 10 p.m. when the suspects allegedly attempted to steal the wife’s purse but only succeeded in taking her keys and cell phone.
Based on witness descriptions, officers located the suspects’ vehicle and stopped it as it was traveling west on 13th Street. The suspects were arrested and the stolen items recovered.
In addition to robbery, Keelin was served with two outstanding warrants charging him with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
‰A woman living in the 500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard reported on Sunday she was robbed at her residence. An unspecified item valued at $20 was stolen.
Theft
‰A woman living in the 2900 block of Bath Avenue reported on Tuesday computer equipment and other items valued at $370 had been stolen from her vehicle.
‰A woman living in Hillcrest Apartments reported on Monday her vehicle, valued at $700, was stolen from the parking lot outside her building.
‰A woman living in the 1000 block of Belmont Street on Sunday reported the theft of $410 cash.
‰A man living in the 600 block of 26th Street on Friday reported the theft of $300 cash.
‰A woman living in the 2500 block of Hilton Avenue reported on Saturday her purse had been stolen from her vehicle.
‰A Raceland woman reported on Thursday her car was stolen from the 3000 block of Railroad Street.
‰A woman living in the 500 block of Ninth Street on Thursday reported the theft of $300 worth of tools from her vehicle.
Burglary
‰A woman living in the 1800 block of Belmont Street reported on Monday someone had broken into her home and stolen jewelry valued at $1,500.
‰A woman living in the 800 block of Hunt Street reported on Sunday an electronic item valued at $1,700 was stolen in a break-in at her residence.
‰A man living in Hillcrest Apartments reported on Saturday someone broke into his home and stole computer equipment valued at $1,000.
Shoplifting
‰A juvenile was arrested on Saturday at J.C. Penney in the Ashland Town Center after allegedly trying to take merchandise from the store valued at $26.
‰A Westwood woman was arrested on Saturday at Town Center for allegedly stealing items worth a total of $64.99 from J.C. Penney and Rack Room Shoes.
‰A Portsmouth woman was arrested on Friday at Wal-Mart after she allegedly tried to make off with items valued at $175.41.
‰An Ashland woman was arrested on Thursday after she allegedly tried to steal merchandise valued at $31.96 from Family Dollar, 2025 29th St.
Criminal mischief
‰Clark’s Pump N Shop, 3254 13th St., on Sunday reported vandals had done an estimated $400 damage to the business.
‰Time Warner Cable reported on Saturday vandals caused an estimated $10,000 damage to equipment on Rayburn Road.
