Court date set for man arrested for trespassing at 2 area pools

GREENUP —
A court date has been set for an Ashland man who is in the Greenup County Detention Center for allegedly trespassing at a private pool.
James K. Juett, 39, will appear in court on July 8 for a pretrial conference. During the conference he will get a chance to plead on the trespassing charge as well as one for disorderly conduct.
Juett was arrested on June 15 for disorderly conduct at the Greenbo Lake State Resort Park public pool.
It’s considered disorderly conduct when someone creates alarm or concern, said Greenup County Attorney Mike Wilson.
The Greenup County Sheriff’s Office got a call saying a man had been asking young girls to model for him and making a video recording of them, according to a news release from the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department. The video focused on inappropriate parts of the young girls’ bodies.
There had also been previous calls to police about Juett being asked not to return to other pools in the area, said Deputy Jason Bryant, who made the arrest.
Juett was released but arrested again late last week for trespassing at Tranquilan pool in Russell.
Police weren’t involved in removing Juett from Tranquilan but got involved when the president of the pool later signed a warrant for his arrest for trespassing.
Pool Manager Debbie Perry said the pool has posted pictures of Juett and informed members of what happened.
Perry said Juett came to the pool on June 11, 12 and 13 and was asked to leave when he entered the office area where people must sign in and get a number. She said Juett left when asked.
Perry said at one of those times he left a note for one of the pool employees about modeling.
Wilson said there may be a third charge against Juett from the family of one of the girls Juett videotaped. They are currently on vacation and may choose not to be involved in the case.
Wilson said Juett hadn’t paid the $2,000 bond required for him to be released from jail.
If Juett pays the bond and is released he wouldn’t be allowed to go to swimming pools or areas where children gather.
Wilson said he’s dropped off letters warning people about Juett at the four pools in Greenup County. He said whether or not Juett is convicted, he will eventually be released and people should be aware of the situation.
