Police Beat: Woman arrested in vehicle theft

The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:
Theft
‰Boyd County Ford, 2119 Greenup Ave., reported Friday the theft of a vehicle valued at $19,500. Police subsequently recovered the vehicle and arrested Britney D. Wells, of the 2800 block of Buena Vista Drive, on a felony receiving-stolen-property charge.
The report also listed a male suspect in the case, who had not been arrested as of Tuesday.
‰An Ironton man reported Monday $210 cash was stolen from him in the 1200 block of Gallaher Drive.
‰A woman living in the 1400 block of Maryland Parkway reported Monday the theft of computer equipment valued at $630.
‰Foodland, 1225 13th St., reported Monday the theft of $650 cash.
‰A woman living in the 1900 block of Carter Avenue reported Sunday the theft of a bicycle valued at $100.
‰A woman living in the 3300 block of Boy Scout Road reported Friday someone broke into her vehicle and stole computer equipment and other items valued at $1,630, and did an estimated $2,000 damage to the vehicle.
‰A man living in the 2600 block of Boone Street reported Friday the theft of computer equipment valued at $200.
‰A woman living in the 1200 block of Cherokee Avenue reported Friday the theft of computer equipment valued at $629.
Robbery
‰Police arrested two women on felony charges following an incident Saturday at Belk in the Ashland Town Center.
Lezah N. Cook, of the 2500 block of Kirk Street, was charged with second-degree robbery, while Barbara A. Howard of Kitts Hill was charged with theft.
The two allegedly tried to steal merchandise valued at $555.95 from the store.
Under Kentucky law, anyone who uses or threatens to use physical force during the commission of a theft can be charged with robbery.
Burglary
‰A man living in the 4300 block of Ridgeway Drive reported Monday someone had broken into his home and stolen electronics and other items valued at $4,000.
‰A woman living in the 4000 block of Mound Street reported Sunday computer equipment valued at $400 was stolen in a break-in at her residence.
Shoplifting
‰An Ashland woman was arrested Sunday at Wal-Mart for allegedly attempting to steal merchandise valued at $32.
‰An Ashland woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly attempting to shoplift merchandise valued at $34.99 from Rack Room Shoes in the Ashland Town Center.
‰Two women from Martin County were arrested Friday after they allegedly tried to take nearly $500 worth of merchandise from Belk.
Andrea M. Webb and Hyllis Moore, both of Lovely, were charged with felony theft.
