Ex-eatery worker charged with theft

Gregory Hudson allegedy stole $4,940 from Rally's

Kenneth Hart/The Independent

Greenup A former employee of a Greenup County fast-food restaurant has been charged with stealing nearly $5,000 from the establishment’s till over a nearly two-year period.

A Greenup County grand jury recently indicted Gregory S. Hudson, 45, of Ironton, on 10 counts of felony theft.

Grand jurors alleged on 10 separate occasions between March 10, 2007, and April 18 of this year, Hudson stole cash from the daily receipts of the Rally’s restaurant at the intersection of U.S. 23 and Diederich Boulevard in Russell.

The amounts ranged from $316 to $714. The total amount stolen was $4,940, according to the indictment.

The charges against Hudson are Class D felonies, each of which carries a prison sentence of one to five years.

A grand jury indictment is a formal accusation of a crime and does not establish guilt.

Others named in the most recent round of true bills handed up by the grand jury were:

‰Edward Delong, 46, of Russell, charged with one count of failure to register as a sex offender.

‰Delores J. McCoy, 35, of Flatwoods, charged with one count of second-degree burglary and one count of theft.

‰Shenia I. Seagraves, 29, of South Shore, charged with one count of first-degree drug possession, one count of driving under the influence, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of no insurance.

‰Joseph R. Stanley, 27, of Coal Grove, charged with one count of first-degree fleeing or evading police.
