Chelsea Clinton in Ashland today
ASHLAND - Chelsea Clinton will be back in the state today, making several stops in support of her mother’s presidential campaign.
Miss Clinton will be at Hillary Clinton’s campaign headquarters in Ashland this morning between 8:30 and 9:30 for an open house.
She’ll then visit Dixie Heights High School in Edgewood before traveling to Lexington for a campaign.
It’s the latest in a number of appearances by Miss Clinton ahead of Kentucky’s primary on May 20.
Though Mrs. Clinton's campaign has struggled in recent weeks, she has vowed to fight on.
Miss Clinton said during an event in Frankfort last week her family will continue to work hard in an effort to mount a comeback against Democratic rival Barack Obama.

Democrats to have bean dinner
ASHLAND - The Boyd County Democratic Women’s Club, in cooperation with the Boyd County Democratic Party, will host a bean dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at United Steelworkers Local 1865 at 734 Carter Ave.
The event allows Democrats to meet local candidates running for public office in the May 20 primary, said Boyd County Democratic Chairman Marcus Woodward.
Tickets are available from area Democrats or at the door for $5.

Mongiardo backs Obama campaign
FRANKFORT - Kentucky Lt. Gov. Dan Mongiardo endorsed Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama on Sunday, less than two weeks before Obama faces rival Hillary Clinton in the state Democratic presidential primary on May 20.
Mongiardo said Obama can unite the Democratic Party and build a coalition with independents and Republicans before the general election in November.
Mongiardo, a surgeon, also praised Obama's health care plan, which would cut medical costs for all families.
Gov. Steve Beshear, a superdelegate, has yet to announce the candidate he will back at the Democratic National Convention his summer.

Play therapy session May 29
ASHLAND - Professional counselors and those who work with children are invited to an informational session on play therapy from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 29 at Hope’s Place Children’s Advocacy Center at 1100 Greenup Ave.
Amy Holsinger will discuss the importance of play therapy during the session. Holsinger is the co-director of the Early Childhood Mental Health Program for the Counselor’s Clinical Cottage.

Obama office opens in Ashland
ASHLAND - The Ashland for Obama opening will be at 6:30 p.m. today at headquarters at 1133 Carter Ave.
Supporters of Sen. Barack Obama’s bid as the Democratic candidate for president are invited to attend.
This will be the kickoff campaign for the group.

Monthly prayer breakfast Tuesday
ASHLAND - The Monthly Community Prayer Breakfast will be Tuesday at Centenary United Methodist Church at 2901 Winchester Ave.
The meeting will be at 7:30 a.m. and last about an hour. It is open to all denominations.
The group has met every month at difference churches in the area for the past 10 years, president Don Maxwell said.
A faith offering is given with proceeds going to the Ashland Community Kitchen.
More than $18,300 has been donated to the Community Kitchen and the now closed Sparrow’s Nook through these offerings.
