OLBH South Shore adds cardiology

SOUTH SHORE - Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital’s Bellefonte Primary Care location at Indianola Avenue will add cardiology services beginning May 15.

“This exciting addition to South Shore will make it easier than ever for the members of the surrounding communities to see a heart specialist,” David Selby, the practice’s site manager, said.

Cardiology coverage for the South Shore facility will be provided on a rotating basis by OLBH cardiologists David Bush, M.D., Michele Friday, M.D., and Charles Rhodes, M.D.

General medical services at Bellefonte Primary Care in South Shore is provided by Glendese Miller, M.D., and physician assistant Jennifer Atkins.

BCHS council sets parent election

ASHLAND - The Boyd County High School site-based decision making council parent member election will be Monday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main office.

Applications are available through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A parent council member is a parent, stepparent, foster parent or legal guardian of a student to be enrolled in the school during the parent’s term of council service.

Parents may serve as school council members if they work or have relatives working in another school in the district.

Parents may not serve if they or their relatives work in the school in which the parent will serve on the council or in the district central office if they are a local board member or spouse of a local board member.



Police awards ceremony May 13

ASHLAND - The Ashland Police Department’s annual commendations and awards ceremony will be at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Family Life Center of South Ashland United Methodist Church, 2203 29th St.

The program is designed to extend official recognition to members of the APD and others who perform acts of meritorious service and/or who accomplish outstanding achievements.
