The Boyd County Public Library will kick off the addition of Nintendo Wii to the library’s video and computer games collection with a week full of Wii activities for all ages.
Wii Week will be Monday through May 16 at the main branch, 1740 Central Ave. Each day there will be time set aside for patrons to play Wii games in the meeting room.
The schedule:
‰Monday: Senior Bowling Tournament. Individuals will compete from 10 a.m. to noon and teams from 1 to 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded. Individuals need to arrive right at 10 a.m. to register for their tournment, while those wishing to play in the team tournment must arrive at noon. Up to four per team.
‰May 13: Teen Wii Night from 6 to 8 p.m.
‰May 14: Tween Wii Night from 4 to 6 p.m.
‰May 15: Dance Dance Revolution & Guitar Hero, all ages 4 to 8 p.m.
‰May 16: Open play from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All programs will be on a first-come first-served basis with each person getting 30 minutes of play time.
Wii games will be available for checkout beginning May 19. Initially there will be about 75 games, with more added monthly. Wii Week will be quarterly at the library. Upcoming weeks include Aug. 11 through 15 and Nov. 17 through 21.
