A man and a woman were killed and two others were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Ky. 7 in Greenup County early Friday morning.
James McBrayer, 25, of Chinn’s Branch Road, and Krista Woods, 31, of Greenup, both were pronounced dead at the accident scene, the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department said.
Two other passengers, James Wicker and Bernice Wicker, whose ages and addresses were not immediately available, were flown by helicopter to Cabell Huntington Hospital, the sheriff’s department said.
The accident, which occurred about a mile and half from the A-A Highway, was reported about 2:30 a.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle involved lying on its top at the edge of the roadway. All four of its occupants had been ejected.
McBrayer’s and Woods’ bodies were lying in the road and in a ditch. James Wicker was located in a pasture near the wrecked vehicle. He had been seriously injured. His wife’s injuries appeared to be less severe, the sheriff’s department said.
James Wicker was listed in critical condition Friday afternoon; his wife in fair condition, a hospital spokesman said.
The accident remains under investigation by Deputy David Bocook.
