MOREHEAD - Helen Bongard, chairwoman of the Legal Studies Department at Sullivan University, will be the speaker during a live, interactive video presentation about financial and legal planning for those with dementia.
The free event will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Center for Health Education and Research Room 102-D, 316 W. Second St.

Hospice support group planned
HUNTINGTON - Hospice of Huntington will offer a monthly Transitions Support Group beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 17 at the downtown office.
The free, professionally facilitated session will combine both group discussions on grief and socialization through recreational activities.

Photo workshop upcoming
HINDMAN - Malcolm J. Wilson, a digital artist/photographer and Harlan County native, will lead a basic digital photography workshop Oct. 23 through 27 at the Hindman Settlement School.
The workshop will focus on photo composition, lighting, camera settings and preparation of photos and files for printing, archival display and email.
Workshop check-in will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 23; the workshop will be at 7:30 with a course introduction and meet and greet. Class time and field work will be Oct. 24 through 27.
Students will exhibit their work, “Hindman Heritage, a Visual Diary,” Oct. 26 in a gallery show at the Kentucky School of Craft.
The workshop will conclude at noon Oct. 27.
The cost is $350, which covers tuition, meals and print exhibition materials. Cottage-style housing is available on campus for a cost of $35 per night.
Participants should bring their own digital camera and equipment. A nonrefundable deposit of $200 will be applied to the cost of the workshop at the time of registration.

AHS Class of 1953 reunion slated
ASHLAND - The reunion committee for the Ashland High School class of 1953 has finalized arrangements for the 60th reunion. An appetizer reception will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and a dinner reception and pictures will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Bellefonte Country Club.
