Spaghetti dinner will be Saturday
ASHLAND - Normal Presbyterian Church at 4316 Winchester Ave. will have a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. The meal will be spaghetti, salad, dessert and beverage.
Holiday items also will be for sale.
Quilt show set for Friday, Saturday
GREENUP - The Greenup County Quilt Guild will have a quilt show Friday and Saturday at the Greenup County Courthouse.
Quilters will display their full-sized quilts and other projects.
Area quilters are invited to bring quilts for display between 8 and 10 a.m. Friday; quilts may be picked up after 3 p.m. Saturday.
A raffle quilt made by members of the guild will be on display; a drawing for the quilt will be after 3 p.m. Saturday in front of the courthouse. The winner need not be present. Tickets will be for sale during the show.
Party a fundraiser for animals
IRONTON - An Avon party will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ellisonville Park on Ohio 93, north of Ironton.
Proceeds will go to Until Then, a nonprofit organization that helps provide supplies to animal shelters. There will be games and free drawings.

ASHLAND - Rose Hill Christian School’s senior class will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the school parking lot.
‘Short & Sweet’ book club to meet
CANNONSBURG - The Boyd County Public Library’s monthly “quick” book club will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Kyova branch in the mall on U.S. 60.
“Short & Sweet” will offer a quick taste of literature for busy people. Participants will read and discuss two short stories and enjoy sweets. The stories for this month are “A Tough Tussel” by Ambrose Bierce and “Hobnail” by Crystal Argobast.

Carnival set at Ross Chapel
RUSH - Ross Chapel on Bolts Fork will have an old-fashioned carnival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be free inflatables, games, a sweet shop, food, hayrides, a cake walk and apple-butter making.
