Benefit ride will be Saturday
ASHLAND - The Hawgs for Dawgs benefit ride will be Saturday, with registration from 10 a.m. to noon at R.J. Kahuna’s at the Kyova Mall.
The cost is $10 for singles and $15 for doubles. Departure will be at noon.
The event is sponsored by the Ashland Animal Rescue Fund and the A-Town Crew.
Senior center’s grand opening set
RUSSELL - The grand opening of the new Russell Senior Center will be at 11 a.m. Friday.
The center will be at 520 Bellefonte St. The center will also have a hot dog sale from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Family summer movies offered
ASHLAND - The Boyd County Public Library will show free family movies at noon on Fridays in June and July.
Movies will be shown at the main branch, 1740 Central Ave.

Church to host sale Friday
FLATWOODS - A rummage, hot dog and bake sale will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Advance United Methodist Church.
Proceeds will go to the church building fund.
Mental health in-service June 18

Sustainability workshop slated
FLORENCE - The Kentucky Association for Environmental Education will present the second annual KAEE Sustainability Symposium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 21 at Gateway Community and Technical College’s Boone Campus in Florence.
The event will explore the collaborative network of numerous educational, local government and nonprofit organizations committed to enhancing northern Kentucky through urban sustainable development.
