Shelter of Hope is planning its second annual Harley for the Homeless benefit motorcycle ride.
This year’s event includes a Hot-Rod for the Homeless car show.
The day starts with a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s from 8 to 10 a.m. May 25. Tickets, which are $5, may be purchased at the door. This also is registration time for bikers. Cost is $20 for single and $25 for double. Those who register to ride may eat breakfast free.
A short dedication ceremony to honor the passing of a veteran who participated in the program, followed by the Blessing of the Bikes, will begin the ride. Kickstands will go up at 10:30 a.m.
The car show will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oakland Avenue Baptist Church in Catlettsburg. All makes and models of cars are welcome. Participants may register on site for $10. There will be free lunch, door prizes and entertainment. The first 25 cars will receive ribbons and trophies for Most Patriotic and Popular Vote will be awarded. Proceeds from the ride, pancake breakfast and car show will benefit Shelter of Hope.
