Hospice to offer transitions group
Hospice of Huntington will offer a monthly Transitions Support Group at 10:30 a.m. beginning June 19 at the downtown office, 1101 Sixth Ave.
The free, professionally facilitated session will combine both group discussions on grief and socialization through recreational activities.

Red Cross benefit raffle June 13
The 11th annual Red Cross fundraising raffle will be June 13 at the Elks Lodge.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. The drawing for $10,000 will be at 7:30 p.m.
Winners do not need to be present. Tickets, which are $100, will admit two for dinner and drawing.

Greenbrier train trip June 21
The Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society will sponsor a day trip to The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs on June 21 as part of the state’s 150th birthday.
Travelers can board in Huntington or Charleston. A breakfast buffet will be served on the train with luncheon served at the resort before a tour of the bunker. Afternoon tea will follow.

Ballroom dancing with by Dick Newman will be from 7 to 10 p.m. today at the Underwood Senior Center.

Knitting classes are ongoing
Beginning knitting classes are offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays at CoffeeTree Books.
Instructor is Jennifer Reis. Cost is $10 for a two-hour session.
Dance sessions offered Mondays
Ballroom dance lessons will be offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays at the Underwood Senior Center at 632 Ninth Ave.
The dance during June will be the cha-cha.
No partner is required; cost is $6 per class.

SAR to meet
The John Howe Chapter Sons of the American Revolution will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Flatwoods branch of the Greenup County Public Library.
Guest speaker will be George Trampe, who will give a presentation about the Battle of King’s Mountain.
The meeting is open to the public.
