U.S. 23 Highway Yard Sale slated
The sixth annual U.S. 23 Highway Yard Sale will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 23 through 25.
The sale will begin in Greenup County and end in Letcher County, coordinating with U.S. 23.
Boyd County’s organized site will be at Sargent’s Tires at the intersection of U.S. 23 and Hoods Creek Pike. Vendors can pick their spots on a first-come-first-served basis.

Isaacs concert next week
LEXINGTON - Bluegrass artists the Isaacs will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Baptist Church, 3100 Tates Creek.
Proceeds will benefit the Sunrise Rotary Club of Lexington.

Library run/walk to be April 26
ASHLAND - The Boyd County Public Library will present the Love Your Library 5K run and walk on April 26 at Central Park.
A 5K run/walk will begin at 7 p.m.; a 1.25-mile walk will begin at 6 p.m.
The event is to promote awareness, not to raise funds.
Preregistration for the run/walk is $8 for those who have a library card or $10 for those without a card. Registration the day of the event for those without a card is $15.
Preregistration for the 1.25-walk is $6 or free with a library card.
An iPad will be given as a door prize; other prizes will be awarded.

Cruise-In season begins Saturday
GREENUP - The Greenup County Cruisers will begin the 2013 Cruise-In season with an event at 7 p.m. Saturday in Greenup.
All makes and models of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. There is a $5 registration fee. Concessions will be available.
A People’s Choice trophy will be awarded.
Proceeds from the cruise-ins will help continue the annual Adam’s Run, an event to raise money for a local child battling cancer. The cruise-ins will be on the second Saturday of the month from April through October.
Cruisers will sponsor a cruise-in and movie night May 11 in Greenup with a showing of “Thunder Road.”
There also will be a swap meet/vendor fair.
