Theater camp takes applications
Jenny Wiley Theatre will offer Footlights Theatre Camp, a performance-based workshop for grades one through five and grades six through 12 (grades completed by summer).
Camp participants are involved in creating a show with directors and designers, culminating with two public performances for each production on the JWT amphitheater mainstage. Auditions for roles will be required by workshop participants but all participants will be included.
Footlights Theatre Camp (Grades 1-5) will present Disney’s “The Jungle Book Kids.” Camp will be 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily June through 15. Performances will be June 17 and 18. Workshop fee is $225.
Footlights Theatre Camp (Grades 6-12) will present “Seussical, Jr.” Camp will be 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 15 through July 20. Performanceswill be July 22 and 23. Workshop fee is $255.
All workshops will be at the JWT Pikeville location at 218 Second St.

The Tri-State Youth Orchestra will present its annual spring concert at 8 p.m. Saturday in the ARTS Renaissance Auditorium. The admission is $5; children 12 and younger are admitted free.
New York rail trip sets in June
The Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society will offer a trip to New York City by private histori railroad car June 9 through 12.
Leaving from Huntington and Charleston, the trip will include three nights’ lodging at the Hampton Inn in Linden, N.J., two breakfasts at the hotel, six meals on the train, a 48-hour Gray Line bus tour pass and motorcoach transportation from the station to the hotel on Sunday and return on Wednesday.

The Carter County Extension Agency will have a Mommy and Me Tea from 10 a.m. to noon May 21 at the education center.
Manners and table etiquette will be offered to girls 2 through 5 along with an accompanying mother or grandmother.
Also planned are stories, crafts and a nutritious snack.

Two mulligans and lunch will be provided
