Matching up with books this month

Boyd County Public Library suggests February is a good time to meet a book.

During Blind Date with a Book month at BCPL, there will be a display of books wrapped in brown paper at all three branches for patrons to borrow without knowing the title; large-print items will be indicated on the wrapper.

Readers have 21 days plus renewal time with the book. When finished, fill out the Rate Your Date slip inside the book and drop it off at the library. Each form enters the reader into a drawing for a real date — dinner and a movie for two. Patrons can go on an unlimited number of “blind dates” during the month.

The last day to checkout a Blind Date is Feb. 28 and Rate Your Date slips must be turned in by March 7. The winner will be announced March 10.

Dance lessons scheduled

Ballroom dance lessons during February will be tango at the Governor Underwood Senior Center at 632 Ninth Ave.

Classes are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays. Private lessons also are available. Attendees should dress comfortable with shoes that slide.

No partner is required; cost is  $6 per class.
