Photography exhibit to open Friday at museum

ASHLAND — Work of local photographers will be on display in “Groundbreaking Images,” Boyd County Public Library’s photo exhibit, which opens Friday evening at the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center.

“Groundbreaking Images” runs until Aug. 30 and is sponsored by BCPL’s adult summer reading program, “Groundbreaking Reads,” which wraps up on Labor Day. Photographers are free to interpret the theme as they see fit.

The opening reception for the exhibit will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the museum  at 1620 Winchester Ave. during First Friday events. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free.

A $50 Best of Show prize will be awarded, based on composition, print quality, uniqueness and adherence to theme.
