— Jim and Mary Powers of Ashland announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kayla Suzanne Powers, to Aaron Michael Snyder, son of Mike and Teresa Snyder of Ashland.
The wedding will be Aug. 16, 2008, at Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church in Ashland.
The bride-to-be is a student at Bellefonte Beauty Academy and is employed at Holy Family Afterschool in Ashland.
The groom-elect is a 2007 graduate of the University of Kentucky and is a substitute teacher in the Boyd County school district and is also a sportswriter at The Independent.
