FOUNDATION

The Jesse Stuart Foundation preserves the human and literary legacy of Stuart and other Kentucky and Appalachian writers.

‰The JSF Regional Readers book group will meet March 27 at 5:45 p.m. March’s selection is “Watches of the Night” by Harry Caudill. The book group is open to all and new members are welcome. The complete reading list for 2012 is available at jsfbooks.com.

‰The Young Readers’ Corner features Jesse Stuart’s junior books as well as books for children by Billy C. Clark and other regional authors; books in the “Childhood of Famous Americans” series; and resources for teachers of reading.

Potters’ Loft

A eight-week, wheel-thrown pottery class will be either Mondays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. or Tuesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the upstairs of the L Style Salon’s Potter's Loft, 1516 Winchester Ave., Ashland. PAINTED COW GALLERY

“Show the Love,” an exhibit by local artist Sally Salyers, continues. Proceeds from the sale of her work or her husband’s work go toward defraying her medical costs.

Each Tuesday, the gallery turns into a studio home for an assortment of artists to work on their artwork. Watercolor instructions are also offered by appointment each Tuesday. Call Maureen for prices and times.
