GRAYSON GALLERY and ART CENTER

Exhibits

‰Monday will be the 100th birthday of the Girl Scouts of America. On March 12, Girl Scouts of Carter County will display their exhibit, “100 Years of Girl Scouts — A Walk Down Memory Lane,” at the center. The exhibit will include pictures, games, cookies, patches and other memorabilia. Those who have pictures or memorabilia they’d like to donate or loan for the event or for the Girl Scout time capsule, call Bobbi Talbert at (606) 474-4067 or (606) 585-4443. Dropoff location will be at Edward Jones in the Town Mall in Grayson. Donations should be made by March 1.

Classes, a collaboration between the gallery and the Carter County Public Library, are under way, including:

‰Creative Writing — 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Grayson branch, Carter County Public Library; instructor James Shope.

‰Book Illustrating — 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Grayson Gallery and Art Center, 301 E. Third St., Grayson. Deadline to sign up is Friday.

‰Learning to Play Guitar — Noon to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Grayson branch, Carter County Public Library; Randy Satterfield, instructor. Free.

Exhibits

‰“Memories of the Past/Future Antiques: Vintage Art, Antiques and Collectibles featuring assemblage artist Cheryl Kuhn” will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 24 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 25.

‰Final Friday Art and Antiques Walk from 6 to 9 p.m. March 30. Free opening reception for assemblage artist Cheryl Kuhn of Art Angels Toys. Music by Larry Whitt, Brent Jack and Tom Berry; refreshments.

The gallery is available for special showings by appointment.
