ASHLAND — THE FRENCH ART COLONY

Exhibits

‰Through June 24 — The Paintings of Terry Norris.

‰June 29 through July 29 — Summer Festival Competition Show.

‰Aug. 3 through 26 — "Scenes of Our River Communities"  Community Photography Exhibit.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Shows

‰July 13 — “Stillwater Lite.”

‰July 27 through 29 — “Laura Ingalls Wilder: Voice of the Prairie” at Bob Evans Farm Amphitheater.

‰Aug. 17, 7 p.m. and Aug. 18 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the FAC Patio  — “Fairy Tale Courtroom.”

Gates open at 5:30 p.m., music begins at 6 p.m.  Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students (K-College).  Food from local vendors, beer and wine will be available.  Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs.

Classes

‰Summer Arts Adventure Camps: Each day is filled with art, games, team activities, creative fun, guests artists and more!  Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Open to youth, ages 8 to 14. First week of attendance $80, additional weeks $75. 

‰Through Friday:  “Time Machine: Blast 2 the past and zoom 2 the future.”

‰June 25 through 29: “Pop! Goes Imagination” pop culture fun.

‰July 16 through 20: “Imagination on Stage” theater, fashion and more.

‰July 23 through 27: “Camp Creepenstien.”

‰Aug. 13 through 17: “Creative Castle” dragons, damsels and art.

‰Little Artists Day Camps: Open to youth, ages 5 to 7. Cost is $40 per camp. Tuesday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the following dates:

‰July 10 through 12 “Bark! Meow! Tweet!”

‰Aug. 7 through 9 — “Once Upon A Time.”

‰Aug. 13 through 17 — “Creative Castle” dragons, damsels and art!

GRAYSON GALLERY and ART CENTER

Classes

Free classes, a collaboration between the gallery and the Carter County Public Library as part of the Heart of the Park project, are under way, including:

‰Creative Writing — 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Grayson branch, Carter County Public Library; instructor James Shope.

‰Book Illustrating — 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays, Grayson Gallery and Art Center, 301 E. Third St., Grayson.

‰Learning to Play Guitar — Noon to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Grayson branch, Carter County Public Library; Randy Satterfield, instructor. Free.

Exhibits

‰Final Friday Art and Antiques Walk from 6 to 9 p.m. on the last Friday of the month.

The gallery is available for special showings by appointment.
