The winner of that game will likely play top-seeded and undefeated Wichita State in the second round.
Wichita State plays the winner of California-Poly and Texas Southern in the round of 64. A No. 1 seed has never lost its tournament opener.
Louisville and Duke potentially wait as opponents for Kentucky should the Cats continue advancing. Louisville, despite a 29-5 record and champions of the AAC Tournament, was seeded fourth. Duke is seeded third and Michigan is second.

Ohio Valley Conference champion Eastern Kentucky, the No. 15 seed in the South, plays second-seeded Kansas Friday at 4:10 p.m. in St. Louis
