FRANKLIN FURNACE — Big Sandy Superstore, a Top 50 Home Furnishings Retailer, has announced a Charity Bonanza event, which will benefit numerous charities throughout the Tri-State area.

The opportunity to give back to the local community is something that is important to Big Sandy Superstore and its executive team, said CEO Robert VanHoose.

“We have had success helping specific charities with previous charity events,” he said, “but this is the first time we are extending that opportunity for an entire weekend.”

Charities large and small are partnering with Big Sandy  for the event, which features a “Discounts for Donations” program. This program allows Big Sandy customers to receive a percentage discount on items purchased to match a donation to one of the partner charities, up to a maximum of a 10 percent discount for donations of $10 or more. The customer gets to choose from a list of the partnering charities as to who will receive their donation.

“The response from charities has been tremendous,” said Dan Evans, director of marketing. “The charities we are teaming up with represent some of the most active charities in the communities in which we live. We are proud to support their goals and missions by means of our donations. We are thrilled to be able to give back to our communities in such a profound way.”

The event will occur at all Big Sandy Superstore locations from Friday until Aug. 20.
