Ashland Alliance meeting Tuesday

The 11th annual meeting of the Ashland Alliance will be Tuesday on the Belle of Cincinnati Riverboat.
Boarding will take place at 6 p.m. the Ironton Boat Ramp this year because of improvements under way at the Ashland Boat Ramp. The cost is $65 a person, which includes dinner and a cruise. The public is invited, but seating is limited and reservations are required.
The alliance will honor its business members with three awards at the meeting. The Young Professional of the Year Award will be announced by Jim Purgerson, alliance president. To qualify for this honor, an individual must have provided outstanding service to the Young Professionals organization, the alliance and community.
The President’s Award, also announced by Purgerson, honors a volunteer who believes in the alliance’s mission, works to improve the local economy and quality of life and has given time and talents to help ensure the efforts of the alliance are successful.
The Cornerstone Award will be announced by Jim Cantrell, alliance board chairman. It is given each year to a community leader who has made outstanding contributions toward improving the quality of life in the community.
